Thank you to everyone who has returned their field trip permission slips for the Georgia Aquarium on March 29th. There is still time to return it if you have not!
Homework: 1) Spelling: WTW Sort 24 cloze quiz; practice on www.spellingcity.com/salwardt 2) Math: Practice counting cubes by numbering the layers on page 950, Volume II. 3) Social Studies: Please read "The Decision to Bomb Hiroshima" and answer the questions on the back. Welcome back from the February Break! It's time to get focused on lessons and standards that will help us prepare for the upcoming Georgia Milestones Assessment! Please make sure you are getting enough sleep each night, and limiting your screen time.
Permission slips went home for our field trip to the Georgia Aquarium on March 29th. Please get them signed as soon as possible. :) Homework: 1) Math: Practice volume by counting cubes on activity page 1. 2) Social Studies: Read about "Iwo Jima" in WWII, and answer the question, "Why did the Marines raise the American flag after the battle?" Our field trip is this Friday, February 16th. Even though it is pajama day, no one can wear pajamas or slippers to the Cobb Superior Courthouse.
Homework: 1) Spelling: Cloze quiz on WTW Sort 22 Thursday. 2) Language Arts: 4 vocabulary word quiz Thursday. 3) Math: UNIT TEST on metric and customary measurement Thursday; complete three page study guide that we stapled into the math notebooks. The answers will be posted by 2:45pm today. Please bring cards and/or non nut-filled candy to share in your classmates Valentine bags, tomorrow, 2/14. We have 26 students.
**Don't forget that we have a math test on Thursday on all the units of measurement we have practiced (length, weight/mass, capacity) in customary and metric measure. I will give you a study sheet tomorrow and post it here on the blog, too. Homework: 1) Math: Converting metric capacity in Volume II, page 879. 2) Language Arts: Synonyms and Antonyms page in your packet, "Add Interest With Synonyms." Tomorrow is Picture Day. We will have pictures taken at 9:15am, so please arrive at school ready to have your picture taken.
We will have a Valentine's Day card or candy exchange in the morning. Students should bring a card or piece of candy for each classmate (26), if they want to participate. 1) Language Arts: Collective and plural nouns, packet pages 17, and 21. Please find the answers to the Study Guide for the Social Studies TEST on Great Depression and New Deal, tomorrow, February 6th. Please make sure you can explain both of these concepts, not just define them. :)
