**Saturday is Fall Festival is this Saturday, October 19th, from 11:00am-1:00pm. The Book Fair will be open on Saturday during Fall Festival! Please come in your costume and enjoy the Haunted Gym!**
Reading: Lesson 10 vocabulary Test tomorrow. Please study both the meaning, and the antonym (opposite meaning) of each word. Both WILL be on the test :) *Packet is due Friday. Spelling: Lesson 10 Test is Friday; packet is due Friday. **Please remember that this is Conference Week, and students will be dismissed at 12:30pm every day/Early Release schedule.** I am looking forward to meeting with all of the parents this week!

Writing: We are starting informational writing this week; we are reviewing classifying animals from previous science lessons. Spelling: *Lesson 10 packet is due Friday; Test is Friday. *Please don't forget that tomorrow is an Early Release Day, at 12:30pm.

Please check your child's backpack in case they did not give it to you.
Homework: 1) Reading: a) Point of view practice, #1-13. Decide if it is first, second, third person; and tell why on the paper; b) turn in vocabulary lesson 8 packet Friday. There will be an assessment on point of view AND making inferences tomorrow. 2) Language Arts: We have been revising our narrative leads in class. For homework, study your lesson 8 spelling words for a test tomorrow; turn in your lesson 8 packet Friday. **Don't forget to turn in Lessons 5 and 7 packets tomorrow for a better grade.** Good afternoon!
*Progress Reports went home for all students that I teach Reading and Language Arts to, today. I gave some make-up assignments to students who had below an 80 in either subject, so students can improve their grades before report card distribution for Quarter 1. Homework: Reading: 1) Vocabulary Lesson 8 Test tomorrow, 2) Quiz on Point of View (first person, second person, third person identification in the text). Language Arts: we will continue looking at types of sentences; Spelling Lesson 8 Test Friday. n*Parents, please check your child's folder for the new classroom newsletter, as well as the conference request forms for the week of October 14th. I am happy to reschedule if a time doesn't work for you. :)
*Students who need to bring their Reading/Language Arts grades up will be receiving a Progress Report tomorrow. I am also giving copies of Lessons 5 and 7 packets for students to complete (if they never turned them in). These classwork grades truly boost grades, and I want the students to learn the material.
