First and foremost, I am going to miss being in the classroom with my amazing 5th graders! I can’t wait until we can be back at Powers Ferry. Until then, we will meet online to work on Reading and Language Arts skills. As we navigate our upcoming school days, I will be available by e-mail and through Remind to help my 5th graders learn and be successful. Here is the information I have for getting started tomorrow, March 16th: 1)I will be available by e-mail ([email protected]), and video chat, Monday-Friday, while we are learning outside of the classroom, from 9:00-10:30am. 2)If you would like to become part of the video chat, where we will go over the packet, and other skills, that was sent home on Friday, March 13th, please sign up for Remind, so that I can give you the link to the video chat through Powers Ferry. The link to Remind is: rmd.at/salwardt, please see the jpg with additional Remind instructions. 3)I will also update parents and students through my blog: https://alwardt.weebly.com 4)Students received a packet of Reading, Writing, and Language Arts practice on Friday, March 13th. For students who were absent, a packet was left in the front office, and I tried to call those students’ parents through the phone numbers provided to the Front Office. 5)A new Spelling Week 27 list was provided on the choice board of the packet. 6)We are continuing with Vocabulary Week 20, so I will work on those with students. I will list the vocabulary words on my blog so students can access them if their packet is not at home with them. 7)The choice board allows students to work on skills in the order they prefer. 8)Students should log in to Headsprout and complete an “Episode” daily (with 20-30 minutes of work time). Please see login directions below. **Internet access during virtual learning: https://www.internetessentials.com/ **Here are some fun and free activities from Scholastic:https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com/support/learnathome/grades-3-5.html **Here is how to access Headsprout and MobyMax and DreamBox from home: Dreambox Math Access from HomeLOGGING IN USING YOUR DREAMBOX LOGIN URL1) Open an internet browser on your student's computer or laptop. 2) Navigate to your school's unique DreamBox login web address (URL) : __________________________________________________________ 3) The school DreamBox login page will open. This page may look different depending on how your school has set up student passwords.
